The MTV Movie & TV Awards have been postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19 concerns.
The outbreak of the coronavirus in around the globe in March 2020 led to cancellations and postponement of different events, and now the MTV network is considering moving the events to December 2020.
The MTV Movie & TV Awards have aired in June for the past two years but it seems that will no longer be the case as a report by Variety has revealed that MTV is holding off this year’s event.
If the 2020 edition of the event is canceled, it will make it the first time the awards haven’t aired in 27 years. At the moment, the network is working on a plan to present the telecast in the latter part of the year, most likely during the December period.
Presented annually on MTV since 1992, winners are decided online by the general public. The 2019 edition took place on June 15, 2019, at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. It was hosted by actor Zachary Levi.
