Production has begun on the highly-anticipated sequel to the award-winning animated movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Released in 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse saw the introduction of Miles Morales as a different version of the eponymous superhero. It grossed over $375 million globally against a $90 million budget.
It was also a critical and commercial success, receiving praise for its animation, characters, story, voice acting, humor, and soundtrack, and also won several awards (including an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature).
Animator Nick Kondo took to his Twitter handle yesterday to announce that the sequel had officially begun production in a tweet he captioned, “First day on the job!”

Not much is known about the second part, but we do know that the plot will focus on the growing relationship between Miles and Gwen Stacy (a Spider-Woman from another dimension). Hopefully, more details will be revealed soon.
