The Matrix 4 release date has been pushed further to 2022.
The delay comes in the wake of Warner Bros. making changes to its slew of release dates for its upcoming films.
According to the new information, The Matrix 4 will now be released in Spring 2022, nearly a full year after its initial release date.
Lana Wachowski returns to direct what has been said to be an absolutely crazy follow-up to the original trilogy, co-writing the screenplay as well.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss return as Neo and Trinity respectively, and production is expected to resume in July 2020.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen was cast in an undisclosed role which many are speculating is a younger version of Morpheus, the character played by Laurence Fishburne in the trilogy.
Also joining the cast are Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, and Brian J. Smith.
