Olivia Wilde joins the female directors of the Marvel Cinematic Universe…
Variety reports that the Booksmart director has signed a deal with Sony Pictures to develop and direct an untitled Marvel film for the studio.
Neither Sony nor Marvel has spoken further about the announcement but there have been speculations that the former has been planning a movie that will focus on the Spider-Woman character.
The upcoming film will be written by Booksmart scribe Katie Silberman and producing will be Amy Pascal. Rachel O’Connor will serve as an executive producer.
Olivia Wilde made her directorial debut with Booksmart (2019), a movie that was critically acclaimed and earned her the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature.
Ben Affleck’s role in Andy Muschietti’s The Flash is reportedly a significant one…
It came as an unexpected surprise when it was revealed yesterday that Affleck would return as the Caped Crusader in the forthcoming superhero film.
Now, Muschietti in a chat with Vanity Fair mentioned that Affleck’s role will be a “substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie.”
His words:
“He’s a very substantial part of the emotional impact of the movie. The interaction and relationship between Barry and Affleck’s Wayne will bring an emotional level that we haven’t seen before. It’s Barry’s movie, it’s Barry’s story, but their characters are more related than we think. They both lost their mothers to murder, and that’s one of the emotional vessels of the movie. That’s where the Affleck Batman kicks in. He’s the baseline. He’s part of that unaltered state before we jump into Barry’s adventure. There’s a familiarity there.”
The Witcher star Henry Cavill shares a behind-the-scenes photo of a bloody and dirty Geralt…
The second season of the hit Netflix series commenced filming in the early part of this year but had to be halted when the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the globe.
Season 2 resumed shooting last week, with several safety protocols put in place for the cast and crew, with showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich confirming that the delay was beneficial as it allowed the writers to perfect the scripts and streamline the emotional arcs of the characters.
Cavill has uploaded a new set photo from the set; a selfie in the makeup chair, looking bruised and bloody after a day of shooting.
