Tenet shows sheer dominance in the UK box office…
Thankfully, Christopher Nolan’s Tenet is set to make its theatrical arrival in a matter of days and it is no wonder why it is the year’s most highly-anticipated movies.
Boasting a stellar cast list that includes John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Michael Caine, Kenneth Branagh, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the film will explore a man’s extraordinary quest to save a world on the brink of a third world war using the concept of time inversion.
Variety reveals that ticket sales for Tenet went live on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, in one of Europe’s largest cinema chains and is responsible for 60% of tickets sold by the company.
The Vue Ocean Terminal theatre in Edinburgh, Scotland will have 19 showtimes for the movie on its opening day, while other cinemas in the UK (like the Cineworld in England) will feature an astonishing 29.
Additionally, Vue CEO, Tim Richards, says it’s only the beginning as sales are “going to pick up very, very quickly in the week before release.”
Netflix speaks after Avatar series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko exit the live-action series adaptation…
Avatar: The Last Airbender needs no introduction as it is one of the popular animated series of all time, garnering critical acclaim and huge fan base when it first aired.
After M. Night Shyamalan’s abysmal live-action film movie The Last Airbender in 2010, not much was said about the future of an adaptation of the beloved series until it was announced in 2018 that a live-action series adaptation would be made, with the series’ creators DiMartino and Konietzko on board the project.
Things took an unexpected turn, however, when DiMartino revealed that they were both leaving the project due to creative differences.
Responding to their exit, Netflix issued the following statement:
We have complete respect and admiration for Michael and Bryan and the story that they created in the Avatar animated series. Although they have chosen to depart the live action project, we are confident in the creative team and their adaptation.”
