Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for coronavirus.
Man City announced the positive result on Monday morning, ruling the former Borussia Dortmund out of their Premier League game against Wolves.
Gundogan will also be forced to miss this week’s Carabao Cup match against Bournemouth and next weekend match against Leicester City at the Etihad.
The Germany international will return to training after his isolation period but may also miss the clash against Leeds on October 3, as he will have to regain fitness.
“Manchester City FC can confirm that Ilkay Gundogan has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Ilkay is now observing a 10-day period of self-isolation in accordance with Premier League and UK Government protocol on quarantine. Everyone at the Club wishes Ilkay a speedy recovery.”
Gundogan is the latest City player to test positive for the virus, with Riyad Mahrez and Aymeric Laporte both returning positive tests two weeks ago.
