On AEW Dynamite, Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin faced Taz’s men, Powerhouse Hobbs and Ricky Starks. However, what mattered the most about this match wasn’t Cody and Darby’s win, but who entered the ring afterward.
When the match ended, all hell broke loose. Hobbs and Starks attacked Arn Anderson, leading Dustin Rhodes in for the save. Shortly, this gave the babyfaces a chance to even the odds. However, when Brian Cage showed up, Taz’s men took out Cody, Dustin, and Darby. Just as Cage was about to hit Cody with the FTW title, none other than Sting arrived in the ring.
The Winter is Coming promo hit the screen as blue lights flashed around Sting and snow fell in the arena. Sting wore his old-school WCW Crow colors and carried a baseball bat. He went into the ring without uttering a word. He faced off with Arn Anderson, then locked eyes with Dustin, Cody and silently stood face-to-face with Darby Allin.

“The surprise introduction of Sting was a great way to celebrate our biggest episode of Dynamite yet,” said Tony Khan, CEO and GM of AEW.
“When AEW launched, I was ecstatic to bring wrestling back to TNT after a very long absence. Sting defeated the legendary Ric Flair in the final wrestling match to be shown on TNT for more than 18 years until the debut of Dynamite in 2019. Now, almost two decades later, it’s such a thrill to welcome Sting to AEW and bring him back home to TNT!”
