2019 champion Naomi Osaka has won the 2021 Australian Open with a straight-sets win over Jennifer Brady at Melbourne Park.
While the opening set was a fiercely-contested one, the second was not as competitive as Osaka further secured her status as the best player in the world.
Osaka never looked overly troubled as she clinched a second crown at Melbourne Park and her fourth Grand Slam title – with all four having come on hard courts.
Naomi Osaka has underlined why she is widely regarded as the best player in the world. Her challenge will now be to see whether she can replicate her dominance on the hard courts into success on clay and grass.
Just how many Grand Slam titles can she go on to win in her career.
For Jennifer Brady there is more to come and she will believe a first major title will come sooner rather than later.
Thanks for your company and we will be back for tomorrow’s men’s final between Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev.
CHAMPION.
