Three delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party in Niger state have been reportedly shot dead by bandits.
The delegates who are from Mariga Local government Area are among the thirteen delegates allocated to the area.
According to DAILY POST, the delegates were killed on their way back to Mariga after the party postponed the primaries to obtain their means of identification, following a protest by some of the aspirants who were not comfortable with the delegates list.
Against this backdrop, delegates were asked to return home and bring their means of identification and the primaries shifted to Thursday.
The victims were two women and a male, whose identities were not revealed.
The killing of these delegates was announced at the PDP secretariat in Minna by the deputy governor of Bayelsa state, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo who also doubles as the chairman of the electoral committee.
It was gathered that these delegates were killed on Wednesday, May 25 while returning to Mariga after the party postponed the primaries due to a protest by some of the aspirants who expressed distrust with the delegates list.
