President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday met with state governors under the All Progressives Congress over the coming presidential primary of the party.
The meeting, slated for noon, has all members of the PGF represented.
It is expected to provide a direction on who should become the flag bearer of the party.
The Governors, who were elected under the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), are considered to be critical to the presidential primary slated for June 6.
Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Kebbi, Atiku Bagudu Abubakar, is leading the APC Governors to the meeting.
Buhari will use the opportunity of the meeting to discuss the forthcoming presidential primary of the party and the need to have a united position with the Governors.
Twenty-three aspirants are being screened by the John Odigie-Oyegun-led APC screening committee, which is sitting at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is expected to be screened by the committee, is absent from the meeting.
The President is expected to leave later in the day for Madrid, Spain for a two-day visit.
