A cross-section of Nigerians has taken to social media to bash leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) over their meeting with the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate Kassim Shettima.
During the meeting held in Osun State, Tinubu promised to intervene in the ongoing strike of the Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The meeting did not however sit well with some Nigerians who believe NANS should not be in bed with politicians but rather serve as a pressure group.
See some reactions below:
A party that made ASUU to be on strike and still doesn't give a damn same party candidate NANS is listening to, they should ask him his achievements with LAUTECH. In all we want the strike to end.

Lmfaooo if Tinubu used his influence well when he was LAUTECH's chancellor, his people would have something to campaign with instead of disturbing us with photos he took with NANS excos who just want to eat money.

I speak for 98% of Nigerian Tertiary institution students when I say NANS no longer serve the interest of Nigerian students in any way.
The leadership are a bunch of political jobbers who just want their cut from the cake so they can drive reckless with Presidency number plates.

ASUU is on strike for 4months and the country is literally in shambles but the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS are busy endorsing Tinubu. NANS are the most clueless set of individuals. Selfish and very wicked. pic.twitter.com/6EEGTbQaVY

NANS who are saddled with the responsibility of protecting the interest of Students are already "standing on the mandate" of Tinubu who is the flag bearer of the govt that's put Education of the country on its knees as they fail to resolve ASUU strike for 5months, God have mercy pic.twitter.com/taJwBl2BG0

Nigerian students have been on strike for 6 months now.
But NANS is doing photo op with Tinubu. The so-called 'student' leaders oh! Busy planning and making visits to Tinubu of the APC, the ruling party that's keeping students out of school!
Well, are they even students????????♀️
