The Buffalo Bills have decided to sit punter Matt Araiza for their game against the Carolina Panthers on Friday. The team is in Charlotte for their third and final preseason game of 2022.
The reports coming out of Bank of America Stadium indicate Araiza will not play, though he is in the building.
That comes after Araiza was named in a civil lawsuit in California on Thursday which accuses him of raping a 17-year-old girl last year while he attended San Diego State.
Some people might say that Tyler Bass, the placekicker, is the most likely option to replace Araiza’s duties.
The potential backup might not be the case.
Keenum and Hyde warmed up on the sideline, but to actually kick it?
Here’s where something interesting really begins.
Matt Barkley was the backup quarterback who warmed up and punted the ball before kickoff.
The Bills could realize once the game begins who might be an option for punting situations. They could go for it, but the coaching staff would want to see special teamers perform well too.
