A Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia state, has ordered the Nigerian government to return separatist leader, Nnamdi Kanu, to Kenya where he was ‘illegally’ repatriated.

The court also ordered the government to pay Kanu the sum of N500 million as damages for his illegal abduction and violation of his fundamental human rights.

Kanu was arrested by the Nigerian government in Kano after he fled the country while on bail.
