The death of Gangsta Boo, age 43, has been announced.
Gangsta Boo, whose true name was Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, was found dead at her home on Sunday (01.01.23), her bandmate DJ Paul revealed.
Without specifying what happened to Gansgta, he posted a picture of her with a halo emoji over her head and a sobbing face emoji underneath it as a homage.
In response to the tweet, the DJ was swamped with comments from his fellow musicians, including one from rapper Lil Jon, who said: “We were just hanging out three weeks ago, and Krayzie Bone is like, “Cannot believe this dude. Hard one “Act a Fool” singer Ludacris posted a simple emoji of folded hands in prayer next to a dove.
Several people close to the ‘Late Nite Tip’ singer claimed in the hours following the news of her death that she and her brother had spent the night together and overdosed.
TMZ reports that a source has said: “Last night, Gangsta took her brother to a performance in Memphis, and during the night, he began to overdose and had to be taken to the hospital.
Even though he made it through unscathed, many who were there at the site of Gangsta Boo’s death allege that drugs were discovered on her and that a fentanyl-laced substance was likely involved. The police have reportedly begun their formal inquiry.”
Gangsta Boo is a rapper and one of the first female artists to be signed to Three 6 Mafia’s label, Hypnotize Minds. She was known for her aggressive style of rapping and for being the only female member of the group.
Gangsta Boo released several solo albums and has collaborated with a number of other artists, including La Chat and Beatking. In addition to her work as a rapper, Gangsta Boo has also appeared in several films and television shows, including the reality show “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
