Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has given his verdict on the better player between Arsenal’s Thomas Partey and Man Utd’s Casemiro.
The two defensive midfielders have been formidable for their various teams this season and this has spurred arguments among fans on who has been the better player so far.
Waving into the argument, Ferdinand heaped praises on both Partey and Casemiro but believes that there is a clear winner between the two players.
“He [Thomas Partey] is actually playing some passes I didn’t know he had,” Ferdinand said on his VIBE with FIVE podcast.
“At Atletico Madrid, did you see those passes? In the Champions League?
“In terms of who is more important to their team, you can argue for both sides. But when you throw the stats in, Casemiro wipes the floor with him.
“I don’t think Partey is good enough defensively to do what Casemiro is doing. I don’t think he has the impact to do defensively what Casemiro is doing for Man United.
“On the ball, he is doing more. He is dictating play for Arsenal man, controlling tempos.”
