Hyundai Motor India has unveiled the IONIQ 5, a full-battery electric SUV, at the Auto Expo 2023 in India.
The premium electric SUV, which is already available in other countries, will be offered at a special price for the first 500 buyers in India, priced at 44,95,000 rupees.
This will be the second electric car offered by Hyundai in India, following the Kona.
The bookings for the IONIQ 5, which has a certified range of 631 km, began on December 21, 2022, and the company has already received 200 bookings prior to the launch.
The IONIQ 5 is the first model built on Hyundai’s new Electric Global Modular Platform and comes with ultra-fast charging capabilities, a 72.6 kWh battery pack, and a power output of 160 kW and torque of 350 Nm.
It also features cutting-edge Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology that allows customers to power electrical appliances such as laptops and phones through the car’s charging ports.
The V2L port is located under the second-row seats. Another V2L port is located at the charging port on the vehicle’s exterior. Using a converter, customers can power electric equipment such as bicycles, e-scooters, and camping items, among others.
