The Nigerian government has so far evacuated 1,984 citizens from war-torn Sudan, OduNews reports.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) disclosed that the eleventh batch of evacuees consisting of 128 Nationals (117 Adults and 11 Minors) that departed Port Sudan International Airport have arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
NIDCOM said no life has been lost and a total of 1,984 persons have been evacuated so far.
The collaborative efforts of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, NIDCOM and Federal Commission for Refugees, was lauded by the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWG).
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) also promised to provide necessary support to ensure that evacuated students from the war-torn country are integrated into the nation’s universities.
