According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, the incident came to light when Ade’s parents reported the kidnapping at the Warri police station. In a series of tweets shared on Friday, Edafe revealed that the police swiftly launched an investigation into the matter.

To apprehend the culprits, an undercover female police officer engaged in a conversation with Ade’s parents, pretending to comply with the ransom demand. The police team then set up an ambush at the designated location.

As the operation unfolded, one of the accomplices, Precious, arrived at the scene to collect the ransom money. However, the undercover police officers swiftly surrounded and apprehended him. Precious subsequently led the police to the hideout where Ade and their other friend were hiding.

During questioning, all three suspects confessed to their involvement in planning the fake kidnapping scheme. The police have since taken them into custody.

The motive behind the teenager’s decision to stage his own abduction remains unclear at this time. The police investigation is ongoing, and the suspects will face the full weight of the law for their actions.
