In a recent move by the Brooklyn Nets, free agent swingman Lonnie Walker has been signed on a one-year contract, as per Adrian Wojnarowski from ESPN. Walker, previously with the Los Angeles Lakers, had also drawn interest from his former team for a re-signing opportunity. However, the potential for increased playing time seems to have swayed him towards Brooklyn.

Walker, 24, has four seasons of experience with the San Antonio Spurs and one season with the Lakers.

In his tenure with the Lakers, he played in 56 regular-season games, including 32 starts, and averaged 11.7 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 23.2 minutes per game. He also made appearances in 13 postseason games, averaging 6.2 points in 13.8 minutes.

Although Walker’s exact role within the Nets rotation is still unclear, his addition to the team, already abundant in wing players, could indicate forthcoming changes.

Walker’s contract with the Lakers, which totaled $6,479,000 for the season, has now expired, making him an unrestricted free agent. His new financial terms with the Nets have not yet been disclosed.
