Lagos Governor Congratulates Deputy Dr. Obafemi Hamzat on His 59th Birthday

The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended warm congratulations to his deputy, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, as the distinguished deputy governor marked his 59th birthday on Tuesday. Governor Sanwo-Olu lauded Dr. Hamzat’s contributions and hailed him as a trustworthy partner in the administration’s quest to build a Greater Lagos.

In an official congratulatory message released by Mr. Gboyega Akosile, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the governor highlighted Dr. Hamzat’s unwavering support for the government’s efforts to deliver good governance and improve the quality of life for Lagos residents.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also acknowledged Dr. Hamzat’s exceptional contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State over the past 18 years, during which he served in various capacities before assuming office as the deputy governor on May 29, 2019. The governor reminisced about Dr. Hamzat’s instrumental role as a commissioner in different ministries, and now as the second-in-command in the Center of Excellence, which led to significant positive changes in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.

Highlighting Dr. Hamzat’s remarkable achievements, Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that his tenure as a two-term elected deputy governor marked a historic milestone in Lagos State’s political history. Dr. Hamzat’s enduring legacy attests to his distinguished career as a seasoned technocrat, administrator, politician, and committed democrat.

Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his felicitations on this special occasion, saying, “Happy 59th birthday to my reliable, hardworking, dependable, supportive, trustworthy, and committed brother, friend, and partner in the Greater Lagos agenda of our administration.”

Furthermore, the governor extended his heartfelt prayers for Dr. Hamzat’s continued well-being and ability to serve humanity, Lagos State, and Nigeria with even greater dedication. He conveyed these wishes on behalf of his wife, Ibijoke, the people and government of Lagos State, as well as leaders and members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
