The newly appointed Ministerial nominee, Mr. Abbas Balarabe, offered an explanation for the dramatic incident that occurred during his Senate screening on Wednesday.
Balarabe, hailing from Kaduna State, unexpectedly slumped while responding to questions from senators after presenting his curriculum vitae (CV) to the Senate.
The incident, which took many by surprise, was clarified by Balarabe himself, who revealed that his exhaustion from a sleepless night spent preparing for the screening was the underlying cause. In an interview with reporters, the minister-designate shared details of his ordeal and expressed gratitude for the support he received.
“It is basically exhaustion. I got the news of my nomination yesterday and I had to come from Kaduna. There were so many things to do which I attended to throughout the night. What happened today is a result of pure exhaustion, explained Balarabe.
He went on to extend his appreciation to the Senate, especially the senators representing Kaduna State, who stood by him since his arrival in Abuja. Balarabe also acknowledged the efforts of the medical team that promptly attended to him.
“I am alright now, and there is nothing seriously wrong with me. What I experienced was simply a case of exhaustion, which can happen to anyone,” Balarabe assured.
The incident sparked concern and discussions across the nation, with many expressing relief that the minister-designate’s health is intact.
