The news of his passing was confirmed by Talba Lakwaja, the spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lokoja, in a statement released on Friday.

According to the statement, Hon. Muhammed, a prominent figure in the local political scene, breathed his last at approximately 4:30 am on Friday at a hospital in Lokoja, Kogi State. The untimely death of the Chairman has sent shockwaves throughout the region, coming just hours before the eagerly anticipated governorship elections scheduled for Saturday, 11 November.

The late Chairman was reportedly rushed to the hospital after collapsing at his residence. It was revealed that he had been actively participating in a series of political meetings and campaign preparations for the impending poll, demonstrating his dedication to the political process.

Talba Lakwaja, the APC spokesperson, issued a public announcement regarding the funeral arrangements for Hon. Muhammed. The statement read, “This is to notify the general public that the remains of the Lokoja Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Mohammed Dasebe Mohammed, will be buried at Anguwan Kura burial ground at 2 pm immediately after Jummat prayer. The body will depart from his family house at the cantonment to Lokoja Central Mosque by 1:30 pm.”

Hon. Muhammed Danasabe Muhammed, who hailed from ward B in the cantonment area of Lokoja, is survived by his mother, wife, and children. His passing is not only a loss to his family but also to the entire Lokoja community and the political landscape of Kogi State.

As the people of Lokoja mourn the loss of their dedicated leader, attention now turns to the governorship elections on Saturday, where the impact of this tragedy on the political dynamics of the region remains uncertain.
