Heartland Football Club has bolstered its squad with the signing of 30 new players for the upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, OduNews reports. This massive recruitment drive follows the club’s readmission into the NPFL after Beyond Limits Academy was unable to meet the necessary requirements for participation.
Among the notable signings are Elvis Ori and Kelvin Ogunga from Bayelsa United, Udochukwu Anumudu from Abia Warriors, Louis Umoh Anthony from Heartland Feeders, and Alex Godwin from Niger Tornadoes. Other players joining the Naze Millionaires include Julius Namitanie, Chukwudi Agor, Olanrewaju Molade, and Samuel Wisdom from Giant Brillars.
The influx of new talent also sees players like Ebuka Nwokoecha from Diamond FA, Ikwu Ejike from Rangers, and Suraju Lawal from Giant Brillars, among others, join the squad in preparation for the new season. Former Golden Eagles captain, Emmanuel Amunike, has been appointed as the head coach, leading Heartland’s campaign in the NPFL.
Heartland is set to kick off the season with a challenging fixture against Enyimba, marking their return to top-flight football. The club’s management is optimistic that the new signings will help them make a strong impact in the league.
