Nike and Dutch streetwear brand Patta are commemorating two major milestones — Patta’s 20-year anniversary and 15 years of partnership with Nike — with the highly anticipated re-release of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Chlorophyll”. This iconic sneaker, first launched in 2009, is considered one of the most coveted Air Max 1 collaborations of all time.

The new drop, set for September 13, stays true to the original design, with subtle updates to reflect the passage of time and Patta’s growth. Designers even reused the same fabric from the original release, ensuring that the sneaker maintains its classic appeal. The Chlorophyll and Matte Silver colorway, combined with a custom Patta tongue label, keeps the shoe’s unique identity intact. One notable update is in the sock liner, which now features a €20 bill design, paying homage to Patta’s two decades of cultural influence.

Patta cofounder Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt described the collaboration as a reflection of both brands’ shared commitment to sneaker culture and community. “With this release, we stick to the essence of the shoe, which really stands the test of time,” Schmidt said. “It’s just an amazing moment to bring back a shoe that’s so coveted and loved by the sneaker community.”

Founded in 2004 in Amsterdam, Patta has evolved from a small sneaker shop into a global brand known for its collaborations, community-driven initiatives, and contributions to modern sneaker culture. Over the years, Nike and Patta have teamed up more than 10 times, with six standout Air Max 1 colorways, making Patta Nike’s longest-standing and most influential Air Max collaborator.

The partnership extends beyond sneakers, with collaborations that celebrate sport and culture, including the FC Barcelona x Patta collection and the Nike x Patta Running Team capsule. Beyond fashion, Nike also supports the Patta Academy, an initiative that helps young entrepreneurs, underscoring both brands’ commitment to empowering the next generation.

Leo Sandino-Taylor, Nike’s VP of Global Energy Marketing, praised Patta’s authentic connection with its community. “Patta’s steadfast commitment to its vision and community makes them an outstanding partner,” Sandino-Taylor said, emphasizing how the brand’s DNA is evident in every project they work on together.

The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 Chlorophyll will be available exclusively at pattaxnike.com and Patta stores on September 13, with early in-store access on September 12 at Patta’s chapter store in Lagos, Nigeria.
