American YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has revealed he experienced moments of fear during his exhibition fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Paul emerged victorious via unanimous decision after eight intense rounds in front of a crowd of 80,000 fans.
“It was tough, like I expected it to be,” Paul admitted after the fight. “He’s exactly what I thought—one of the greatest to ever do it. He’s an icon and a legend.”
In a closely watched match, Paul landed 78 punches compared to Tyson’s 18, with the younger fighter throwing 278 punches to Tyson’s 97. Despite his dominance in the later rounds, Paul acknowledged he was cautious about going for a knockout against the 58-year-old boxing icon.
“I was scared he was going to hurt me. I was trying to hurt him,” Paul said, reflecting on his approach to the fight.
