Osas Ighodaro Joins Woody McClain in Cape Town Action-Comedy Film

Nigerian actress and executive producer Osas Ighodaro has signed on to the cast of "Boyz Trip," an action-comedy film currently filming in Cape Town, South Africa. The production brings together talent from across Africa, Europe, and America for what producers describe as a truly global cinema event. Ighodaro joins an ensemble cast that includes American actors Woody McClain, known for his role in Power Book II: Ghost, and Hakeem Kae-Kazim, celebrated for his performance in Hotel Rwanda.

Director Kyle Scott has crafted a story centered on four college friends whose annual getaway spirals into international chaos. The narrative forces the group to lean on their long-standing friendships and improvised skills to navigate the dangerous situations they encounter. This premise sets the stage for blending comedy with action sequences, a formula designed to appeal to audiences across multiple continents.

The cast roster reflects the film's commitment to cross-continental representation. Beyond Ighodaro, McClain, and Kae-Kazim, the production features Rome Flynn, Algee Smith, Desi Banks, and South African actor Siv Ngesi. Additional cast members include Thapelo Mokoena, Bohang Moeko, Ama Qamata, and Ama K. Abebrese, alongside British-Korean actress Alessandra Fuller and Swedish performer Francisca Aronsson. South African actor Peter Lee and producer Honorable C.N.O.T.E. round out the ensemble.

Producer Autumn Bailey-Ford emphasized the scope of the project in recent statements. "We are excited to finally round out this cast," Bailey-Ford said. "This is truly going to be a global project, as we have talent from London, Nollywood, South Africa, Korea, and America all coming together." The comment underscores the deliberate effort to assemble performers from distinct film industries and backgrounds, creating what the production team hopes will resonate with international audiences.

The creative team behind the camera matches the star power in front of it. Emmy-nominated composers Kareem James and Marcus Ash will create the film's original score, bringing their award-winning experience to the project. The production involves three separate production companies: KeyScott Entertainment, Canyon View Media, and Autumn Bailey Entertainment, pooling resources and expertise to realize the vision.

Filming continues in Cape Town, with the production targeting a 2026 release. The choice of South Africa as the primary filming location positions the country as a major hub for pan-African entertainment production, a role it has increasingly assumed in recent years. Industry observers expect the film to become a showcase for how African and international talent can collaborate on large-scale commercial projects.

Ighodaro's involvement marks another significant international opportunity for the Nigerian entertainment industry. Her addition to the cast signals confidence from producers in her ability to anchor dramatic and comedic material alongside established Hollywood and African performers. The actress and executive producer joins a growing number of Nigerian creatives securing prominent roles in continental and global film productions.

The production company executives have positioned "Boyz Trip" as a major release for 2026, suggesting they expect significant investment in marketing and distribution upon completion. The involvement of Emmy-nominated composers and the caliber of the cast indicate a substantial budget allocated to the project. Industry insiders will watch the film's development closely as a potential template for future cross-continental co-productions.
