Manchester City's Erling Haaland will lend his voice to a fierce Viking warrior in a new animated children's film set for Christmas Day release.

The Norwegian striker, who has drawn constant comparisons to a marauding Viking for his relentless goal-scoring style on the pitch, joins the cast of "Viqueens", a project helmed by fellow Norwegian filmmaker Harald Zwart, who directed "The Karate Kid".

Producers announced the casting at the Cannes Film Festival. The film is set in a world populated by fearless warrior girls, icy fjords, and draws from Silk Road mythology, creating a fantastical backdrop for Haaland's voice acting debut in cinema.

Haaland's on-pitch performances have earned him the Viking nickname legitimately. The 24-year-old holds the record as the fastest player in Premier League history to reach 100 goals, a benchmark he achieved in record time at Manchester City. His physical dominance, direct style, and goal-scoring hunger mirror the fierce reputation of Norse warriors, making the casting choice a natural fit.

The film will arrive in cinemas on Christmas Day, marking Haaland's entry into voice acting for feature films. Whether his performance in "Viqueens" matches the precision of his finishing on the football pitch remains to be determined, but producers clearly believe his profile and connection to Viking imagery will resonate with audiences during the holiday season.

No further details about Haaland's specific character or the extent of his role in the film have been released by the production team.
