A toddler from Lagos has caught the attention of thousands on social media after flawlessly reciting Psalm 91, the entire scripture, in a video his mother shared this week. The boy, who is just two years old, delivered the verses with remarkable clarity and confidence, leaving viewers stunned at his memory and diction.

His mother posted the clip on Instagram and TikTok where it quickly accumulated thousands of views and comments. Many viewers expressed disbelief at the child's age, with several questioning whether the recording was genuine. Others praised the mother's parenting approach, with some asking how she managed to teach such a young child to memorise such a lengthy and complex passage.

The Psalm, which runs to 16 verses and is traditionally known as a prayer of protection, contains passages about dwelling in the shelter of the Most High and being protected from pestilence and harm. For a two-year-old to recite it without stumbling suggests either exceptional memory or extensive practice, or both.

Comments on the posts ranged from amazement to scepticism. Some viewers tagged family members and sent the video to group chats, while others left prayer emojis and expressions of faith. A few questioned the child's age, suggesting he might be older than stated.

The mother has not yet made public statements about her teaching methods or how long the child took to learn the passage. She has continued posting other videos of the boy on her social media accounts, though none have generated as much engagement as the Psalm 91 clip.

The video represents a growing trend on Nigerian social media of parents showcasing their children's academic or spiritual achievements. Similar clips of young children reciting poetry, solving mathematics problems, or speaking multiple languages have gone viral in recent months, each sparking debates about childhood development, parenting pressure, and what constitutes age-appropriate learning.
