Wright plays Commissioner Gordon who is a reluctant ally of Batman (played by Robert Pattinson) and one of the city’s very few honest cops.
The Batman is directed by Matt Reeves and will explore a younger version of the crime-fighter last seen in Justice League where he was portrayed by Ben Affleck.
Affleck was billed to star and direct but departed the project. Reeves stepped in and Pattinson was cast to play Bruce Wayne who will be in his mid-thirties.
The upcoming film is the tenth in the DC Extended Universe and other actors attached include Zoe Kravitz (Catwoman), Paul Dano (Riddler), Andy Serkis (Alfred Pennyworth), Colin Farrell (Penguin), and John Turturro (Carmine Falcone).
The Batman arrives on June 25, 2021.
