Frozen 2 has now become the most successful animated film of all time, icing its way past its predecessor and finishing strong at the box office.
Disney’s latest animated effort has made $1.325 billion at the worldwide box office, beating its prequel (which brought in $1.281 billion) and Incredibles ($1.243 billion) to achieve the milestone.
Frozen 2 arrived in cinemas in December 2019 and so far has gotten largely positive reviews, with many hailing it as a worthy successor.
Reacting to the news of its phenomenal success, one of the film’s directors, Jennifer Lee, didn’t hide the fact that it came as a surprise to them.
We just found out,” Lee told Variety at the BAFTA Tea Party on Saturday afternoon. “I’m really excited. I think we’re always surprised.”
Disney continues its dominance with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker retaining its top spot at the global box office, earning $450 million domestically and over $900 million internationally.
It’s easy to see why the Mouse House is the biggest entertainment company in the world as its unrivaled achievements speak for themselves.
