A new set photo has given fans their first look at the man who becomes the new Captain America in the upcoming Disney + series The Falcon & the Winter Soldier.
Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) was the original Captain America in the MCU until he handed over the mantle to his friend Sam Wilson (a.k.a. Falcon) after the cosmic-shaking battle in Avengers: Endgame.
Falcon was surprised and reluctantly accepted the shield offered to him but not everyone will be pleased by that decision.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is the very first TV show that is part of the MCU and will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan reprise their roles as the titular characters.
At last year’s D23 Expo, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed that the series will introduce Wyatt Russell as Johnny Walker. In the comics, he took the mantle of Captain America for a time before becoming a U.S. Agent.
There have been reports that the government will resist the notion of Wilson becoming the new Captain America and based on the new images which have made their way online, it seems they have chosen to give that title to Walker.

It goes without saying that Wilson will not want to give up the shield that his friend gave him that easily so we may see a confrontation. The Winter Soldier is expected to take his new pal’s side so a lot of action should is also expected.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premieres fall 2020 on Disney +.
