R & B singer Ne-Yo gave a touching performance at George Floyd’s funeral yesterday, Tuesday, June 9, 2020.
The service, which was well-attended by celebrities and a host of other personalities, took place at the Fountain of Grace Church in Houston, Texas.
40-year-old Ne-Yo gave a soulful rendition of It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday by Boyz II Men, fighting back tears at a point where his emotions left him almost losing control.
After his performance, the artist shared a few words, sending his love to the Floyd family, and to “anybody that has been lost.”
He said:
Fifty states are protesting at the same time. This man changed the world, changed the world for better. I appreciate the sacrifice, my brother. I genuinely do.”
Also in attendance at the funeral service were Jamie Foxx, Channing Tatum, Kim Burrell, J.J. Watt, Dray Tate, Floyd Mayweather, Kathy Taylor, amongst others.
