First off, Shia…
So, OduNews.com got wind of the just-released trailer for David Ayer’s upcoming crime thriller The Tax Collector, and from the looks of it, the filmmaker isn’t ready to disappoint fans anytime soon.
Written, produced, and directed by Ayer, the film stars Bobby Soto, Shia LaBeouf, Cinthya Carmona, George Lopez, and Jay Reeves.
Soto and LaBeouf play David and Creeper, “tax collectors” for a crime lord named Wizard, collecting his cut from the profits of local gangs.
When Wizard’s old rival returns to Los Angeles from Mexico, dangerous sparks begin to fly and David must protect that which matters most to him – his family.
In the clip, Shia spots an intimidating look with his fiery mustache and goatee, giving off an impression of the feared gangster that he is.
It’s our guess that Ayer’s film is hoping to make the most of Shia’s popularity as it aims to draw fans with his presence since Soto is not that well known.
We see the usual when it comes to crime films of this sort; guns blazing, the protagonist spending time with his family, and the inevitable climax of violent eruption.

Then, the king of Atlantis is bringing a popular Christmas character to life…
According to sources, James Momoa is in negotiations to star as Frosty the Snowman in a live-action film for Warner Bros.
The Aquaman star will also produce alongside Geoff Johns, Greg Silverman, and Jon Berg. The script will be written by David Berenbaum.
Speaking on Momoa playing Frosty, Silverman said:
We know Jason’s a true human being filled with love, compassion and a deep connection to ohana … all of which is the living spirit of Xmas and Frosty.”
Berg added:
From his role as a count in a land of ice and fire to the oceanic success we all had with ‘Aquaman,’ it felt only right to realize Jason this time in snow.”
Frosty the Snowman comes from the popular Christmas song written by Walter Rollins and Steve Nelson.
And last but not the least, Apple wins the bidding war for forthcoming Will Smith biopic Emancipation.
The movie is a slave thriller that will be directed by Antoine Fuqua, with Will in the starring role.
Written by William N. Collage, the plot centers on a runaway slave named Peter, who escaped to the Union Army during the Civil War, outwitting bounty hunters over a period of 10 days through the Louisiana swamps.
Peter’s escape was made possible by his masking his scent with onions and his running away was a result of multiple scars inflicted on his back from repeated floggings at the hands of his owner.
Army pictures of Peter showing the scars on his back were published in 1863 and became known as the “scourged back”, eventually becoming a means to illustrate the cruelty of slavery.
Production is expected to begin in early 2021 as Will gets ready to produce through Westbrook Studios.
