The Delta State Police Command arrested 11 suspected cultists and recovered firearms and ammunition in a major crackdown on violent crimes across the state.
The operation targeted gang members blamed for a wave of kidnappings, armed robbery, and killings that have plagued communities in the oil-rich state. Police said the suspects were arrested during raids on their hideouts in multiple locations.
The command's spokesperson said the crackdown was part of a sustained effort to rid Delta of organised crime.
