The protest was organized by the Big 4 agencies in Century City, and was one of more than a dozen in the Los Angeles area in which thousands of blacks took to the streets demanding an end to the systemic racism after the killing of George Floyd by a white cop recently.

Michael B. Jordan, who portrayed an African American killed by a police officer in Fruitvale Station (2013), urged Hollywood to hire more blacks.

He said:

You committed to a 50/50 gender parity in 2020. Where is the challenge to commit to black hiring? Black content led by black executives, black consultants. Are you policing our storytelling as well? Let us bring our darkness to the light.”
