The upcoming ‘Resident Evil’ series has joined the list of productions being shut down as a result of the pandemic.

Resident Evil suspended on Netflix

Constantin Film had been making the series for and filming was set to begin this summer but unfortunately, that has been halted indefinitely.

OduNews.com learned that almost all of Constantin movie projects have been shut down around the world, and this includes the ‘Resident Evil’ series.

It was last year that news of the popular video game series (which has spawned movies) being adapted for television was first made known to the public.

Martin Moszkowicz, head of Constantin Film, had this to say:

“Our offices are pretty much closed with very, very few people working who are not necessary, so accounting basically… We had to shut down over 30 shows altogether, mainly stuff done in and in Czech Republic and Romania.”

Preproduction on ‘Resident Evil” series was scheduled to start this April, with the first season comprising of eight episodes.

With the current shutdown, the series could end up being pushed back to 2022, although at this point nothing is absolutely certain.
