Gerard Butler‘s action résumé is expanding; he will star in the upcoming action movie Kandahar.
Butler achieved superstardom in the Zack Snyder film 300, and since then it’s been a joyride for his career.
The 50-year-old is set to star as Tom Harris, an undercover CIA operative working in the Middle East.
When an intelligence leak exposes his classified mission and reveals his covert identity, Tom becomes stuck in the heart of hostile territory and must alongside his translator fight his way out of the desert to an extraction point in Kandahar while eluding the special forces hunting them.
The movie will be shot on location in the Middle East. No filming date has been released yet.
Gerard Butler was last seen in the 2020 disaster film Greenland.
