Actress Lily James is set to portray a real-life Bonnie without a Clyde in the upcoming film Peggy Jo.
James starred opposite Ansel Elgort in Baby Driver and this time, she goes on a solo journey of robbing banks.
She will play the role of Peggy Jo Tallas, a girl who takes on the identity of a man to rob banks.
The movie is a true-crime feature adapted for the screen by Robert Knott. It will be shot on location in the United States.
According to the FBI, Peggy Jo Tallas was one of the most unusual bank robbers of her generation.
Always a loner, Peggy didn’t have a partner to drive her getaway car and was determined not to carry a weapon into any bank she robbed.
The movie will be directed by award-winning director Phillip Noyce and is produced by Simon Brooks.
