Elizabeth Debicki (Widows, Tenet) has been chosen to play Princess Diana in the final two seasons of ’s The Crown.

Created by Peter Morgan, the series has followed the royal family through several time periods, beginning from the late 1940s and early 1950s with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip’s marriage and early careers.

With the addition of Debicki as Princess Diana, the show will explore the 1980s and presumably the 1990s, possibly until the final moments of Princess Diana’s death.
