Disney is developing a live-action Aladdin spinoff that will focus on the comic character of Prince Anders from the movie.
Prince Anders was played by actor Billy Magnussen and reports confirm that he will return to reprise the role.
Writers Jordan Dunn and Michael Kvamme have been hired by the studio to pen the screenplay for the movie and the brains behind the project is none other than Magnussen himself who pitched the idea to the producers and they liked it.
Prince Anders in the Aladdin movie was hilarious but not remarkable and fans will be curious to see how his own story plays out. With Disney behind the project, it should be at least an entertaining affair.
Billy Magnussen was born on April 20, 1985, and is an American actor and comedian who has featured on film, television, and stage.
Magnussen is notable for roles in the movies Into The Woods (2014), Birth of the Dragon (2016), Game Night (2018), and Aladdin (2019).
