As we get ready for the arrival of the blockbuster Wonder Woman 1984, the director of the movie has spoken about a potential third movie.

Jenkins stunned audiences with the first movie, proving that women could perform as well as their male counterparts when it comes to helming superhero films and Warner Bros. quickly got her to direct the sequel.

What made Wonder Woman work (aside from its action and spectacle) was the emotions that the titular character was able to show. Even though Diana was a goddess, she was still affected by the everyday problems of the ordinary folks and that was something that resonated with fans worldwide.

Speaking during a recent interview with THR, Jenkins was asked to leave her comments on a third Wonder Woman movie and she had this to say:

We actually already know the whole story to it. It’s just a matter of, will we change our minds, and when [to make it].

I think what we don’t want to do is do it back to back. It’s been great doing these two movies back to back, but I think it’s important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes.

Knowing that a story for the third film is already planned is reassuring but it could be a while before we see the powerful Amazonian princess storm the screen.
