Human Rights Activist, Deji Adeyanju says he has regretted criticizing the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The two vocal Nigerians have been having difficulty working together.

While Adeyanju speaks for all oppressed Nigerians irrespective of ethnicity and religion, the leader of IPOB has been fighting for the Southeast and jews. Kanu wants Southeastern Nigeria to break away into an independent country, Biafra.

In a Twitter message on Monday evening, Deji Adeyanju revealed that he has gotten back with Kanu through the help of former Minister of Aviation, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode.

“Let me specially thank Egbon Femi Fani-Kayode for rebuilding the bridge of friendship with my brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and yes, I expressed regrets over many of my criticism of him. It’s only in a Zoo that characters like Buhari are fit to be leaders. Nigeria never had it this bad before,” said the activist.

In August 2019, Adeyanju had launched scathing criticisms against the leader of IPOB. This had followed the decision of IPOB to attack President Muhammadu Buhari during his visit to Japan. Adeyanju had questioned Kanu’s ideology and his love for Ndigbo.

Adeyanju had also alleged that the IPOB’s leader was driven by money. “Kanu only worships money and will not stop the verbal attacks on Igbo leaders in as much as his paymasters continue to send him alerts,” he had said in a Facebook post on Sunday, August 25, 2019.

But all seems to be fine now after the reconciliatory effort of Fani-Kayode.
