[ODUNEWS] January 18 – According to early reports, Oyo state governor Seyi Makinde would headline Atiku Abubakar’s presidential campaign rally in Ibadan. Governor Makinde, who is a member of the G5 governors’ clique led by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, has been embroiled in a bitter rivalry with the PDP’s flagbearer. It was learned that at the occasion, all of the party’s candidates at all levels will be appropriately introduced. With recent developments, however, the party has returned to normalcy, with all parties cooperating. Hazeem Gbolarumi, the ex-deputy governor of Oyo State and an ardent opponent of the incumbent will...

However, in 2012, INEC introduced Smart Card Readers SCR to validate the Permanent Voter Cards PVCs, which carried voters’ faces. During this time, INEC also used the Automated Facial Identification System (AFIS) to purge the voter rolls. As politicians devised ways to circumvent the system, the electoral umpire went a step further by instituting the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which verifies both the facials and the ballots....
