Blue Story, a gang film, has been pulled from theaters by Vue, a British exhibition chain after a massive brawl at a cinema in central England.
The violence broke out on Saturday during a screening of the movie at a multiplex in Birmingham. Families out to watch Disney’s Frozen 2 had filled the arena when the fight started.
According to reports, it all began when a gang wielding machetes stormed the theater and the police had to use Taser guns to intervene, leading to the arrest of 5 teenagers (4 of them below 15 years of age). Some officers sustained injuries in the process.
Blue Sky had its premiere in London earlier this month and was released by Paramount in the UK. It revolves around two friends who find themselves caught up in gang violence. It is directed by London-based filmmaker Andrew Onwubolu.
