Taiwanese Actor Slumps And Dies While Filming Reality Show

Taiwanese-Canadian actor Godfrey Gao has died after he collapsed on the set of a reality show.

The actor was in the middle of a late-night filming session for Zhejiang TV’s reality show Chase Me when he suffered a cardiac arrest and slumped. He was taken to the hospital but died some hours later.

The reality show usually has contestants go head-to-head in a series of athletic contests, primarily by running through urban areas late at night.

Gao’s friend and manager Andrew Ooi, expressed sadness over the news, stating that the late actor will be sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened by the news. Godfrey was not only a client at one point but, more importantly, a friend. We will miss him dearly, and our hearts go out to his family, especially his parents.Andrew Ooi – variety.com

Godfrey Gao was born on September 22, 1984, and was a model and actor, known for being the first Asian model to appear in a campaign for Louis Vuitton. He was notable for his role as Magnus Bane in the 2013 film The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.
