Footage has emerged showing how the Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello was dragged and disgraced in Lokoja, the state capital
OduNews has obtained the information about the governor been disgraced on Sunday, November 10, 2019, but the details were sketchy not until the video surfaced on the social media.
In the video shared on Twitter by Senator Dino Melaye, OduNews.com can confirm that Governor Yahaya Bello was booed by the people of Lokoja as he convoy drove pass Lokoja road.
In the two-minute video, the people of Kogi could be heard chanting “Ole…. Ole… Thief… thief…” while the Governor’s convoy was passing by.
Senator Melaye, a lawmaker on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Bello’s top critic shared the video on Twitter with the caption: “This is lokoja today. Yahaya Bello booed..”
It is not a coincidence that this is happening six days to the Kogi governorship election which he (Bello) is contesting.
This online news platform understands that Governor Bello is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.
Although more than 15 political parties and candidates will participate in the Kogi election, Musa Wada of the PDP has been touted by political analysts as the person that might unseat Governor Bello.
The Kogi Governorship election is slated for Saturday, November 16 and will be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Nigeria’s electoral umpire.
