The date for the release of the trailer for the ninth movie in the Fast and Furious franchise has been revealed along with what fans should expect from the film.
Fast and Furious 9 finished shooting last month (November 2019) and as a way of launching its promotional campaign, the trailer will be released on January 31, 2020.
The release of the trailer will coincide with a concert being organized and it will feature the cast of the movie being on hand to deliver video clip, along with performances from Cardi B (who plays a part in the film), Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth, and Ludacris.
The concert will take place in Miami, Florida and the movie’s star Vin Diesel, who has been getting fans prepared all week, revealed that he has seen the trailer.
I yesterday saw the four-minute trailer. The launch will be announced on the 18th of this month. I just saw it yesterday. And I was just telling [Michelle Rodriguez] how blown away she’s going to be and I realized I should probably tell you guys too. It’s just — I was speechless. I literally had to see [director] Justin [Lin] and have dinner with him immediately. I was just speechless. I can’t wait for you guys to see it.Vin Diesel – movieweb.com
Fast and Furious 9 will arrive in theaters on May 22, 2020, and will see a major addition to the series in the person of wrestler and actor John Cena, who alongside Cardi B is the latest addition to the franchise.
Dwayne Johnson was not part of the film but now that his beef with Diesel is over, he will return in future projects. It has also been disclosed that the character of Brian O’Connor (played by the late Paul Walker) will make a return via the use of one of his brothers and extensive CGI (Computer-Generated Imagery).
