A new Planet of the Apes film is being developed by Fox under the supervision of Disney, with Wes Ball set to direct.
The rebooted series saw the release of 2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes and its critically-acclaimed sequels Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War For the Planet of the Apes capture the heart of fans praised the films, lauding the visuals and acting.
The franchise was largely successful thanks to the riveting performance of Andy Serkis whose portrayal of the Ape leader Caesar was the highlight of the series.
Disney acquired 20th Century Fox in the early part of 2019 and Planet of the Apes is now one of the many properties it now owns. Back in April, they had announced their plan to make more movies in the franchise and now they are moving forward with it.
THR reports that the next film will continue the story in the trilogy and fans can only imagine what that means as anything Disney touches turns into gold.
