Disney + is set to get more streams with a reboot of the family film Home Alone in development.
Casting for the production has already begun with Archie Yates, Ellie Kemper, and Rob Delaney already picked for starring roles.
The reboot will definitely propel Disney + to new heights as it is already becoming a threat to Netflix, having amassed an amazing figure of 10 million subscribers on its first day.
Fans of the original movies will want to see this one because Disney will put a lot into it to make sure it becomes as successful as its predecessors.
Starring Macaulay Culkin, the first Home Alone was released in 1990 and became an instant family classic, making $476.7 million worldwide. It is the tale of a boy who hilariously gives two thieves something to remember when they attempt to break into his home.
Its sequel Home Alone: Lost in New York arrived in 1992 and this time Kevin faced off with the same thieves in a different city and under different circumstances.
Variety has confirmed that the character of Kevin will not feature in the reboot. Instead, Yates will portray a different person who finds himself in similar circumstances with Kevin.
No doubt fans of the original movies will want to see this one and Disney knows how to give audiences what they want. It’s safe to say that we have another original winner for Disney +.
