Nigerian-American singer, Kechi Okwuchi has taken to Twitter to celebrate 14 years of surviving the December 10, 2005, Sosoliso plane crash.
The 30-year-old was one of the 110 people on board on that fateful day, she was also one of the sixty-one secondary school students from Loyola Jesuit College going home for the Christmas holiday.
The airplane which had departed from Abuja had crash-landed on getting to its destination, Port Harcourt and had burst into flames.
Seven passengers had been recovered from the burning plane and taken to hospitals, but only two people including Kechi survived.
Thanking God for life, she tweeted: “On this day 14 yrs ago, my life almost ended at 16. Today I am 30 yrs old & so grateful to God for allowing me to live for the precious souls that were lost on December 10 2005. I am also grateful to you all, for your support as I live my dream. RIP angels #NeverForgotten.”
